Holy Cacao brings cake balls and drinking chocolate to Austin!
Unique, portable desserts served in an even more unique atmosphere
AUSTIN, TX—11/01/09—Upscale desserts served out of a trailer? One of the weirdest cities in the U.S. is now home to a unique dessert concept. The Holy Cacao dessert trailer brings chef-created, tempting and portable treats to Austinites just south of the intersection of Barton Springs and South 1st Street.
Beautifully decorated with granite countertops and murals hand-painted by local artist Claire Hees, this is not your typical Airstream. The price of the food belies the ambiance–desserts are surprisingly affordable; for just a $2.00, customers can satisfy their sweet tooth with a tasty Cake Ball.
Cake Balls are a trendy new menu item made of cake mixed with frosting, rolled into a ball, and wrapped in a delicious chocolaty coating, to ensure a moist, rich interior, and served perched atop a Popsicle stick. Cake flavors range from Dark Chocolate, Wedding Cake, Red Velvet, Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate but special varieties arise from time to time, so check in frequently!
But that’s not the only fun dessert offered by Holy Cacao. Back at the Trailer Park Eatery by popular demand, Holy Cacao has reintroduced S’mores to South Austin. Using, made-from-scratch, Magic Marshmallows, you can toast your own S’more Sandwich with your friends. You’ll get enough marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers to toast for 2, for just $6.00!
For liquid decadence they serve Hot Chocolate, thick—as it should be, or a Cake Shake offering the perfect dessert combo of cake and ice cream in a delicious milkshake. Also, you can try a delicious and classic Soda Float, using Blue Bell ice cream and flavored with unique flavors like Big Red or Dr. Pepper.
Celebrating a special occasion or need a unique client gift? Cake Balls are also available for delivery by the dozen throughout greater Austin for delivery at a nominal charge or can be shipped throughout the U.S.
Holy Cacao is the brainchild of co-owners Ellen Kinsey and John Spillyards, who collaborated with Cammie Spillyards, a celebrated CIA (Culinary Institute of America) chef based in Dallas, Texas.
Holy Cacao is located at 1311 S. 1st St., Austin, TX, 78704, in the South Austin Trailer Park & Eatery (next to Torchy’s Tacos). Delivery orders can be placed by contacting the location at 512-851-CAKE (2253), or emailing orders@theholycacao.com.
