Once again, our creative genius, Francis McLean has been playing in the kitchen. This time, he’s created what we’re calling Chocolate Salted Toffee Balls: Chocolate cake with salted and roasted pecans, mixed together with cinnamon marsh mellow batter dipped in white chocolate, and topped with house-made toffee.

If you think that Wooderson just drooled a little bit, you’d be right. These are alright, alright, alllllriiiight!

We were recently one of several participants in a video project by students at UT for a project called Documenting Creativity.  The project was a look at what makes the food truck scene in Austin work so well.  We wanted to share the video with you here .  Hopefully, if you’ve been thinking of starting your own food truck, you’ll see both perspective from business owners and customers.

For those of you who know us here at Holy Cacao, you know that we are big fans of film.  We are so fortunate to live in Austin with such an awesome array of film venues including, Violet Crown Cinema, Alamo Drafthouse and Paramount Theaters (we love the summer film series).  In fact, we’re still lamenting the loss of the Dobie but Violet Crown has done a very nice job of scratching that itch for Austinites.  Violet Crown has not only built a reputation around showing clever documentaries and independent/art films but also for serving top notch food and cocktails.  Holy Cacao is honored to have been approached by Violet Crown to serve as their Cake Ball of choice!  Yep, you can now go watch your favorite new film (we loved Argo and cannot wait for Sessions), enjoy a tasty Manhattan and a cheese plate and take some Cake Balls into the theater for the show!

Wine Festival.  For this first year we will likely bring an array of our famous
