Hello blogosphere, today, Sunday April 18th, 2010, is my darling Ellen’s birthday.  That’s right, the Cake Ball Queen of Austin is turning…um…well younger and more beautiful than ever!  We will be open today but are playing hooky thanks  to our lovely teammates.  We are off this morning to enjoy Kerbey Lane-Kerbey Lane.  Then after some world-class pancakes, my sweetheart has requested a trip to the Lady Bird Wildflower Center.  We have our Moms and Ellen’s Dad in tow along with our little pup, Tex and my Mom’s puppy, Ricky.  Ellen’s special treat request today is her age old love…cupcakes (shh…don’t tell).  Yep, we make Cakeballs but the passion for our sweets came from a mutual love of cupcakes.  We just wanted to do something different (surprise, surprise for any of you who really know us!).  So we will hit as may cupcake places as we can (Wes and Olivia be on the lookout!) before we burst!
