This past week has been a very busy and productive one for us here at Holy Cacao.   It took our entire team to pull it off successfully (thanks to : Chance, Samantha, Sabrina and Jessica)!

We were recently recognized as Finalists for the Austin BiG Business Plan Contest.  We hope that all of our friends and supporters can join us as the Winner will be awarded “American Idol” style with an audience vote.  I’ll forewarn you that advance tickets are $50 for the luncheon on April 16th at the Downtown Austin Hilton (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM).  However, there will be many business and civic leaders present and should be a great opportunity to network and get to know some very interesting people.  We truly hope you can come join us for the event.

Further, this past Sunday, March 28th, we filmed our first episode for the Food Network.  It will be the first time EVER that Cake Balls will be featured on the Network.  We are very excited to be the introductory episode for Cake Balls and hope that we represented Austin with sufficient taste and “weirdness”.  We had a tremendous crowd out on Sunday getting their opportunity to be on national television.  Also joining us at the South Austin Trailer Park & Eatery that day, were the Blue Dog Rescue Group.  They brought some lovely dogs seeking permanent homes.  We were particularly charmed by a handsome, all white (and blind) English Bulldog.  He and so many others of the Blue Dog Rescue really need love.  If you are thinking of adding a new pet to your home, please call them and see if you can add one of these pups to your family.

We will keep you posted as to the air date and further details of the show (it’s very “hush hush”).  But, once you hear about the host, the details and see some of the episodes, I know that you will be convinced like we are that this is a HIT in the making.  We were very honored to be a part of the first season.  We will let you know when we hear more, but it’s anticipated air date is June or July.
